Extrême Cordouan

This year, the Joint Syndicate for the Sustainable Development of the Gironde Estuary will participate in the 2024 edition of Extreme Cordouan.

The event

Extreme Cordouan has become one of the most awaited nautical races on the coastline of the Charente-Maritime department and gathers annually hundreds of sport enthusiasts. The Saint-Georges Voile Association organizes this event, and each year, 300 sportsmen sail (windsurfs, windfoils, kitefoils, wingfoils) and paddle (kayaks, canoes) towards the Cordouan lighthouse. The race takes place on paths designed for different types of means, and its departure is set on the Saint-Georges-de-Didonne beach.

It is without a doubt one of the most beautiful sailing races! Besides the nautical race, there is also an event on land where you can find many activities and expositions. The SMIDDEST will hold a booth along with the Parc de l’Estuaire to present the Cordouan lighthouse and its biodiversity through some games that we have prepared for you!
