At a time when the Cordouan lighthouse is a candidate for UNESCO World Heritage status, the Bordeaux Metropolitan Archives, in partnership with the musical association Éclats, is offering a look at the historical roots of this emblematic monument at the mouth of the Gironde estuary.
A selection of maps, watercolor drawings and handwritten texts evoke the rich history of this sentinel of the seas from the 17th to the 19th century.
The exhibition is open to the public free of charge on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:30 am to 5 pm.
