Celebrating Cordouan in Royan
On 2 July, the Charente-Maritime Department will be celebrating the Cordouan lighthouse and its inclusion on the UNESCO World Heritage List in Royan.
A festive day at Royan
Bike rides, entertainment village, tours of the town and a festive evening… The Charente-Maritime department celebrates Cordouan in Royan during a festive day.
Festive village from 2pm to 10pm
Meet at the entertainment village on the Esplanade Kérimel in Royan. Free of charge.
- An exhibition by photographer Nicolas Camoisson who will present the “Cyanotype” technique during workshops on his UV table,
- The artist J-Ben will create a giant fresco on the sand,
- demonstration of stone cutting by La Pierre de Crazannes stone,
- and much more on site…
Bike rides, visit of Royan…
At 2pm, two bike rides will leave from Saint-Palais or Saint-Georges de Didonne to join the festivities in Royan.
The Royan museum opens its doors free of charge and Dominique Pardoux, former lighthouse keeper, will be present to talk about his experience as a keeper.
Royan’s heritage department offers two guided tours of the seaside resort
The festival continues in the evening from 6.30 pm to 10 pm
In addition, the children of the Royan Conservatory will be on stage to close the day.
